I'm so excited to be heading down to Rev3Tri in Knoxville this very minute. Here is my view from my post behind the Starbucks at JFK airport.
The alarm clock went off this morning at 4:10 a.m.. I don't know how people get up at that time every day! I would have to be in bed by 7:30 to make that happen and still have a good attitude!!
This will be a new Rev3 experience for me because Knoxville is a race I've never been too, and I will be working in timing! How awesome is that? I'm super excited because at Rev3, the timing staff really get to interact with all the racers. I also get to hang out with the cool kids on the Rev3Tri team!!
While travelling is always a bit stressful, I have tried to set myself up for a successful trip in many respects. First of all, I totally packed all my food for the today, so I wouldn't have to eat airport junk. So far so good! I have only supplemented with a latte, but that is a no-brainer! I had a green smoothie on the way to the airport, and once I got into JFK, I had my usual breakfast of apples, yogurt and almond butter. I made a yummy salad (don't forget the fork!), and I brought some more apples, some Justin's Nut Butter packs, some organic beef jerky, and some Larabars. There might also be some dark chocolate in the depths of the bag as well, but a girl's gotta keep her sanity somehow!! OMG, I'm totally the crazy food lady!!
My long layover is coming to an end, so I'm off to fill up my water bottle and grab my seat on the next plane!! One flight down, two to go!
Have a great weekend!
