Well, in case you didn't notice, it is December. The snow is falling outside my window, and my Christmas to-do list seems to keep getting bigger instead of smaller. So, in an effort to bring you some holiday cheer and maybe help you cross one or two things off your Christmas list, I will be doing a series of giveaways in the next few weeks called "Trimommy's Stocking Stuffers."
One of my favorite things to do is troll around on the internet looking for great clean-eating recipes. Because I typically try to limit my grains on a day-to-day basis, I tend to lean towards Paleo-style and gluten-free recipes, even though I am not hard-core Paleo or gluten-free. (If you are not sure what I mean by Paleo, check out this link.) So the other day, I was doing my thing and I came across PaleoWomen Granola.
Usually I look for recipes, but something about this product caught my eye. There was a sample pack available for a $2.50 donation to cover shipping, so I ordered one. A few days later I got my pack that had 5 small samples in it. I opened the Cacao Nut Granola first (of course) and was blown away!! I immediately emailed Laura, the owner of the company, to ask her if she would be interested in doing a giveaway, and she jumped in!
Here's what Laura says about PaleoWomen (soon to be PaleoPeople - I guess the guys got jealous) Granolas.
First of all I am a workout fanatic and my chosen place to conduct my fitness is with the CrossFit Community, specifically, Desert CrossFit in Palm Desert California. Many of us are advocates on eating our diets the Paleo way. Simply put, good clean foods with ingredients you would find in the cave dweller days. I began to see the need for some fun and, REALLY IMPORTANT, DELICIOUS, snacks made with these ingredients. Why not go back to the days of our ancestors and eat like they did. After all, that is when foods were at their best for health and performance.
Our female ancestors had the secret. They were the “Gatherers” who created meals including nuts, seeds, berries, fruits, spices and natural sweeteners thus I use the Gatherer ingredients. All of these granolas are wheat and gluten-free and made with all-natural ingredients. And they are really, really good. I at the Cacao Nut Granola straight up out of the bag. I got fancy with the Apple Crisp Granola and put it on top of Greek yogurt with cooked apples this morning for breakfast.
