Softlips Winner and a Lemon Recipe

Congrats to....

Colleen at IRONDIVA.  Colleen is a new Team Trakkers member for 2011!!  Now you will race with soft lips!!

You won the Trimommy's Stocking Stuffers Softlips giveaway!!  Shoot me an email with your info, and I will get those tubes of lusciousness in the mail to you.

Thanks to all of you who made me realize that I am clearly not alone with my lip stuff obsession!!

And now onto lemons.

If you read my Real World Real Food Challenge post, you know I suddenly have an abundance of organic lemons at my house.  Sonja let the world know the recipe for Chuckie Tea which I'll be trying tomorrow, BUT I found a sweet way to use up 3 of my 10 lemons yesterday.

Raw Lemon Treats
adapted from Heather Eats Almond Butter

1 cup raw almonds
1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup pitted dates
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 tsp. lemon zest
unsweetened coconut

Put all the ingredients except coconut in a food processor and run until it all comes together.  Roll into tablespoon size balls with damp hands, and then roll in the coconut flakes. I made 19 balls with this recipe.

If you like lemony, you will love these.  They are gluten-free, grain-free, and have no added sugar.  Don't go crazy though, because each ball has around 100 calories, so that could add up pretty quick.  Even picky eaters will approve...

Three lemons down, 7 to go!!

  1. Yay for Colleen!

Yum...those lemon balls look so good!

  2. Yay Kelly - I'm so excited! Thank you!

And those lemon balls look delish!

  3. They look like homemade larabars! Yum!!

  4. YUM Those look awesome.

I think you need to make lemon margaritas out of the rest of the lemons...(wink)

  5. colleen you best send me ONE tube of softlips. :) ha ha

MMM lemons. I drink chuckie v tea too..well I haven't tried it w/ the ACV yet. gotta get some w/ a culture in it.. only have the pasturized crap right now.

  6. I'm so glad I found your blog through the Real World food challenge! I definitely want to try these lemon balls and I'm about to go to the health food store to get the rest of the ingredients. I had a lot of fun with the challenge and figuring out family-friendly ways to eat all those veg's too!

Woo-hoo!! I want to hear from you!
