Let's Celebrate

I feel like having a celebration.  I've been in a slight funk, almost certainly caused by my lack of any real running.  I'm sorry, all of you aqua-jogging junkies, it's not bad, but, for me, it just doesn't cut it!

BUT, today, I ran 20 whole minutes outside, on the road, real running!!  WOOT!  Coach Mary told me if I could do three sets of eccentric calf raises with no pain, I could run today.  And run I did, for 20 whole minutes. My achilles were a little stiff for the first 1/2 mile, but then they loosened up and felt great!  I am a little stiff tonight, so I will be icing a bit later on.  I think I'm just really going to have to baby my feet if I want to keep up with my running.

So, running is a good reason to have a celebration, right!!

Hmmm....how shall we celebrate?

  4. Hi! I just found your blog. Awesomeness! I did my first tri last year. I finshed and I am so happy about that. I am doing the same one, and maybe acouple others, this year. I love the exhilaration after your done. It's amazing and I am addicted to it.

  6. Nothing worse than a mom who loves to run but is limited by our ever fallible bodies! UGH! Yes, baby those tootsies momma! And dont forget to get rest! Knowing you your recovery will be fast! Enjoy getting back at it!
