Yellow Bike under Blue Sky

So, my life lately has been pretty amazing.  I've been jumping right into coaching!!  I have 7 women signed up for my 12-week tri training program at the North Area Family YMCA, and I have one client who I've been coaching for a few weeks now.  I'm having a blast, learning a lot, and, um, am really, really busy.

With training, coaching, teaching and playing flute (yes, that is my regular job!!), being a mommy and a wife, I feel like there is not a lot of time for extras.  I've really been missing keeping up on all the blogs I normally read.  I try to catch up once or twice a week, but it's hard.  I've also missed regular reading, but have just jumped into Once a Runner, by John Parker, which is fantastic!  I also have a big huge coaching manual that I have to dig into this week, so I can take my test and become official!

For the record, I just took out at least 7 exclamation points in the last paragraph.  All for you, Mark.

Anyway, I had the good fortune to be able to share my long ride this week with my friends, Kristin and Andy.  Kristin just started a blog called My Triathlon Dreams, so if you have a chance check it out.  They were planning on riding from Beaver Lake Nature Center which is about 8 miles from my house, so I loaded up my back pack and rode there to meet them.  We got in a beautiful ride, complete with a puppy chasing, horses, and a dinglehole (actually, that was the name of a road we were on...isn't that awesome!).  Andy has some mad cycling skills and got lots of great pics of us in action.  Seriously, I don't know how he rides with no hands, down hill, taking pictures all at once.

Kristin and I flying downhill.  Check out the sky.  It was like that the whole day.

How can you not smile on a day like this?

I rode home, ran a 30 minute transition run, and ended up with 52 miles on the bike, 3.1 on my feet, and a whole lotta ice in the tub!!
