#i8this on Twitter

Holistic Guru (@holisticguru on Twitter) has issued a twitter challenge on her blog called #i8this.

Basically what it is is a period of 3, 5, 7, or 9 days where you set an intention for yourself and focus on eating super clean. During the period of your challenge, you tweet at least one picture of what you ate that day with #i8this in the tweet.

When I first read about this, I have to tell you honestly that I thought, "No way. I don't need to do another challenge. I eat well." Then this afternoon I had some weak moments with some Easter chocolate.

So, beginning Friday, I will participate in #i8this for seven days. My intent is to have absolutely no sugar for those seven days with the exception of training and recovery fuel, eat a ton of fruits and veggies, and drink a lot of water. This isn't too far from my everyday eating, but I can always stand to stay away from the sugar.

  1. I'm right there with you! My intention is to eat lots of leafy greens and keep up my food diary. Good luck with the no sugar challenge!

  2. I would love to do this! The question is, do I have the willpower to do it while on vacation in Florida next week? Maybe I'll only do it for 3 days just in case I get weak! Then again, there's lots of fresh fruit and seafood at my disposal down there. I'll have to think about this one!

    I'm in for 9 days of #i8this and my goal is to not eat after 8:30 pm. That's a big one for me. Can't wait to see your pictures on twitter!

  4. The sugar goal is a great one! You can also satisfy your sweet tooth by adding more fruit and sweet veggies (like yams) to your diet. When the focus is on adding healthy foods more than on removing unhealthy foods, you will still get both benefits. Healthy foods crowd out the unhealthy ones... ;)

    PS one of my favorite desserts is a quartered orange with 10 naturally sweetened dark chocolate chips.
