The Bright Side

After a week and a half of Ryan being off of school and everyone being home, I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to school being back in today.  We've been getting a lot of snow (we probably have over 2 feet in our yard), and I was a little worried there would be a snow day today, but I got Ryan off to school on time, put Noah in the car to head to the babysitter's, and then I was going to go to the gym to teach spin and run errands for the rest of the day.

Well, that did not happen.  I got everything loaded into the car and began looking for my keys.  I looked in all of my usual spots to no avail.  I didn't go anywhere yesterday, but Kel had taken my car in the many Home Depot trips, so I gave him a call on his cell.

"Hey.  Sorry to bother you on your way to Binghamton that is 90 minutes away from home, but have you seen my keys?"

"No."

"You took my car yesterday, did you see them in the car?"

"I did see them in the car...why do you leave your keys in the car?"

"Well, they are not there now.  Do you have them?"

"No.  Why would I have them?"

"I don't know, but can you just check."

....sounds of searching...

"Oh...here they are in my pocket."

...I will stop the conversational replay right there, because the rest was definitely not pretty.  Especially after Kel told me we had a spare key in the drawer, and, sure enough, we do...to his car....that he was driving to Binghamton!!

So here's the bright side:

I was able to find a sub for my class.
Noah and I spent some quality time together this morning, including going snowshoeing in our cul-de-sac.  (That's how much snow we have, for real!)
I got an extra ride for the week on my trainer instead of the spin bike.
I got all caught up on my blog reading.
I made some homemade chocolate almond butter that I'm trying really hard not to eat straight from the jar right now.  Seriously, it is so good, it is like a siren calling to me.
Kel owes me...wait, that's probably not something that is good for a healthy marriage!! ;)

Have a great night.

  1. That has happened in our family a couple of times. My favorite is when my husband says, "why would I have your keys?" and then discovers them in his pocket!
