Rev3Tri Full Ironman in 2010

I just received word that, along with the half-ironman race, Rev3Tri will be adding a full ironman distance race as well as an olympic distance race to the schedule next year. The ironman distance race is going to be on September 12, 2010, at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH.

For the past year, I have been harboring thoughts of attempting an ironman distance race. (For those of you who don't know, the race is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.) These thoughts came as a surprise to me...someone who just two years ago announced that I have no desire to run a marathon...ever. Funny how those things come back around to bite you in the butt. Since I've been thinking about an ironman, I have pretty much decided that if I ever did one, it would have to wait until Noah is in school-otherwise the training would just take away too much from family time.

Well, when I saw that Rev3 was going to put on a full next year, my mind starting spinning. "Why not?" I thought to myself. So I casually mentioned it to Kel the other day to see what he would say.

I asked again, because I thought maybe he had just misunderstood me and thought I was saying this September.

Well, at least I know how he really feels about it. Musselman is less than 5 weeks away, so I will focus on that, and wait to decide if an ironman is in my future until Noah is a bit older!
