Stop the Tummy-Ache! (or My Quest to Master Nutrition)

I've decided to start keeping track of my long runs every week, because today at about mile 6 into my run, I had, shall we say, some GI issues. Fortunately, I had decided to run in the village today, so I stopped into a sub shop for a potty break. After my little break, I was fine, but I've really got to figure out what is causing this. It isn't the first time it has happened.

Today, I had a gel (Gu Espresso w/ caffeine) right before I took off. I also used 24 oz of GU2O total. At about mile 6, I'm guessing I had drank about half of that. I have a feeling it was the caffeine in the gel that did it. Generally, I am decaffeinated, but a little bit here and there doesn't seem to bother me.

For my long run next week, I think I will try just the GU2O and see how I feel with that.
