Rev3Tri Here I Come (and you can come too)!!

This year as part of Team Trakkers, I get the opportunity to race in the Rev3Tri in Middlebury, CT on June 7. It is a half-iron distance race, and I will be doing the swim and run leg. At first I wasn't sure if I would be able to find anyone to do the bike leg, but my teammate, Carol, found someone for me! (Thanks, Carol!) So Tom and I will be racing together.

This is the inaugural year for the Rev3Tri, and it looks like it is going to be a great race. It will be taking place at Quassy Amusement Park, so Kel and the boys (and everyone else's friends and family) will have full run of the Park the day of the race. Of course, my sponsor, Trakkers, will be using its state-of-the-art gps tracking technology so all of the spectators will be able to follow their loved ones in real time.

The bike and run are on a beautiful course-you can take a sneak peek here. They are also very hilly. Here is a treadmill workout that professional triathlete, Heather Gollnick, recommends if you live in a flat area:

15 minute warmup
½ mile at 6% grade – 90%
¼ mile at 9% grade – 95%
¼ mile FAST 0% grade or even a negative % if your treadmill has one (simulating downhill)
¼ mile at 9% grade – 90%
¼ mile at 12% grade – 95%
¼ mile FAST 0% or below (simulating downhill)
REPEAT THIS 3-5x
(OUCH!)

Speaking of pros, here is a list of pros that will be racing: Bree Wee, Belinda Grainger, Desiree Ficker, Cameron Brown, Leanda Cave, Cait Snow, Luke Bell, Joanna Zeiger, Tim Berkel, Toby Radcliffe, and Rebekah Keat.

Here is the best part--you can race too!! Because you read my blog, you can get $10 off your race registration. Use this code--NSS129-- when you register at active.com.

I'll see you in June!!
